The diesel feels VERY fast. One of the reviews I read mentioned that it feels much faster than track times suggest, and I have to agree. It digs in and goes - the diesel torque is awesome.

Picked it up with 6 miles on the clock, and haven't been to the pump yet (just about 400 miles on it now, and a little under a quarter tank to go). For reference, I seldom see 20+ MPG from my Boxster - I'm not the most conservative driver (one afternoon at the track I managed to get 4 MPG from the Boxster) - so I'd rate the mileage so far somewhere between great and stunning.

I understand that the new iDrive is better than the old one, but I still read snarky reviews about the newer version too. Not sure what kind of technophobe is writing those reviews, but the controls seem logical and easy enough to me.

Last night I just learned about sending messages from Google Maps to the iDrive's message center - anyone else have some killer tips I need to know about?

Not a ton of options beyond nav, parking assist (non-camera), and the rear seat climate package. I went with leatherette, which I understand is a hot-button issue, and it works just fine as a butt / foam barrier.
