X5M + 19" snows == unreal
I got a set of the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snows put on today. Except for a car that had four studded snow tires when I lived in a place that got 30' of snow a year, this is by far the best setup I've used. That includes a current A4 with 225 width tires! For the two things that really matter to me, stopping power and turning grip (pretty much any all-season or snow tires will accelerate well in an AWD car, except on ice), the car is unbelievably good. It will be our family's go-to vehicle in crappy conditions.
Sad that it's dirty, but very impressed!
One aside: in researching the various wheel options, I noticed that there are two different styles of wheels that fell under the Style 298M heading. While I was resigned to getting the one on the top/left, I was absolutely thrilled to get the one on the right/bottom (the wheels actually attached to the car) -- they're Ferric Gray (I think), and the offset of the rims is changed enough to so it doesn't actually make it look like the car body ate the rims/tires. I'm a little bummed that I like this rims more than the stock rims...then again, they're on my car for more than five months of the year, anyway!
