when you plug the device in (USB port inside the center console), the iDrive status for the external device says "reading...", but then reverts back to the default status message of nothing connected after 15 seconds.

This is using the factory iPod/iPhone cable. Will take into the dealer and report back on what the problem is. This is on a brand new 2010 X35d.

Any ideas?
