Sorry to bump an old thread, but searching "error" in the title only brought up a handful of old threads...

After recent cold weather, my MK IV is no longer reading the DVD. And as I've ejected the DVD to look at it, I do not recall it being so scratched up when I originally purchased the updated disc.

Could replacing the laster possibly solve my problem? Some other, older, 2005 thread said the computer could possibly be bad. Everything works on the screen, radio, etc, its just not reading the DVD. I don't thing its even spinning it up...

Thanks for any help!

HTH
After looking at that unit, would that basically replace the entire drive? What I'm asking is if the laser technically fine, but its the part of the drive that spins up the DVD thats gone bad, will this one part kill both birds with one stone?

Thanks!!!!!!!!
