Like everyone has stated, the flash is as good as it gets. I got the 480EXII to save money and I don't use a flash very much anyway.

Personally, I wouldn't buy that lens mainly because it's a EF-S mount and I don't think I'll own a crop body forever (or at least a long time) but I do foresee keeping lenses for use with future bodies. If you think you'll ever get a full-frame body I'd not bother spending on an EF-S lens.

That being said, the lens has gotten great reviews and with a crop body will give you the wide angle you might be looking for. I suppose you could sell the lens if and when you get a full-frame body. You have to figure out what will work for you.
