I think you guys have gotten confused between the carbon fiber vinyl that mrbmwx5 used and the carbon fiber fabric that was brought up.

What mrbmwx5 used is 3M DI-NOC CA-421 which is a very high quality, textured vinyl. This vinyl has no gloss to it and is matte, with a very nice type of adhesive that is very forgiving when you mess up. The only downside is the cost of it.

Carbon fiber fabric has been around longer than the 3M vinyl and looks similar to the 3M vinyl besides having an adhesive. The vinyl will probably stretch better than the fabric for tight bends, but with enough patience, a fabric install will seem fine. The adhesive people use for the fabric is usually 3M Super 77, a spray glue. If in the US, I would buy from here.
