I'd make it a visit. It's your money and your car. I'd think they would have no problem holding your deposit. If you are going with the letter, at a minimum cut out the last paragraph and last line of the second paragraph. Don't EVER give up leverage in a negotiation when you don't have to. Don't feel sorry for the CA, I'm pretty sure they will not feel the same for you...
