I did the job myself, and I can't see where it would cost as low as $300.00. The dealership quoted $550 in parts plus 4-5 hours labor. Now I know its a dealership, but the point is the new parts alone where $550 from the dealer. I did not have the new design on my X5. The only way i can see it costing less is if you have the new design and they just charge you to clean it out (no new parts).

The cost of the insulated valve, QTy 4 hoses and the new design single wall dipstick tube cost a total of $550.00 with the oil dipstick tube running just over $200.00. All parts from a dealer. I understand you can get probably cheaper on line but I was stuck and had 2 days to get it done, and dealer had parts in stock.
