Could a Halogen bulb be connected to HID Ballasts?

I have HID's installed on my GMC Denali, and I need to plug in the stock halogen bulbs for an hour. Does anyone know if I can just plug the bulbs in, or do I have to re-do the wiring and remove the ballasts?

My car is due for its registration renewal, and it failed the inspection for having aftermarket xenon and the tints were too dark. I have no choice but to remove the tints (I will have it done again right after), but I don't want to go through the hassle of removing the HID's.
