I had the same problem just this morning. Got in, turned the seat on and several minutes later I smelled smoke. I actually have a small hole in the leather now. The car is fortunately under warranty and its going next monday. I hope it doesn't happen again! The good thing is that I'll have a new seat (or at least half of one).
