I agree that if the consequence of the Global Warming debate is a reduction in pollution and consumption of non-renewable energy sources - well and good. But let's be honest and say that is what we are seeking to achieve. There is no evidence that human activity is changing the planet's climate. It has changed dramatically before, many times, before man was on the planet - just look at the geological evidence. How ludicrous is it to try and create "limits" on the degrees of global warming we are going to work within - we can't control the world to that level!!!!!!!

The UK government has taken the opportunity to raise tax revenue by using the climate change argument, without taking account of EVIDENCE. Cow's methane emissions being far worse as an atmospheric pollutant than car emissions, for example, yet motorists are being clobbered by ratcheting hikes in duty on fuel.

Unfortunately the UK Government quotes science when it suits, but is happy to discount it, even sack scientific advisers, when the results don't suit their political agenda.

Availability of clean drinking water for many people is the most crucial issue right now. Without that, we don't exist, irrespective of the ambient temperature!
