BMW North America notice the link for .pdf download near the bottom. It doesn't give too much more info and certainly no pricing details. I have yet to learn if these plans are price fixed or subject to negotiation.
I am still researching and I am looking forward to seeing the thread quicksilver is pointing to. So far, my understanding is this offered by BMW and the price of the insurance varies based on the wheel and tire size and I think the numbers of years for which you want coverage. It seems to cover you for tire replacement for "road hazards" (for which I have yet to find a specific definition but you can probably bet that accidents are not included. It seems to be zero deductible and the only other limitation appears to be that a tire must have more tread than 2/32. Rims are also included for road hazard damage but not cosmetic (probably a curb swipe exclusion). I am beginning to glean that if you think you might have to purchase more than 2 tires, from road hazards, it is sort of worth it. You can have unlimited tires replaced, from road hazard damage, but not replaced for wear. Given that RFs are pricey at any size...
So far, I have not yet found confirmation regarding the other prime question: can I put non-runflats on sometime within the 1st year and save the originals to put back on the vehicle before lease end inspection. JLausch seem to think so but I am getting different answers and still hope for a verifiable confirmation one way or the other. Runflats are certainly nice but I live over 100 miles from my dealer and buying 4 high quality all-season (non-RF) would be a LOT less pricey that replacing 4 RFs. Assuming that at 30,000 miles, there would be insufficient tread to pass lease end inspection. Thus, buying other non-RFs after some months and holding the RFs for re-mount would be a substantial savings - possibly close to $1,000.
I realize we are driving BMWs, why sweat the small stuff but spending carefully is what is allowing me to lease a great vehicle that I probably couldn't purchase. So, spending some time trying to learn the pros and cons of the alternatives just seems to make sense.
