Some of you appear to be confusing ignition retardation via the Traction Control System (TCS) and other onboard stability systems for Turbo-Lag.
When making a sharp right turn, from a stop, to pull out into traffic, the TCS may and stability control may retard the ignition to prevent the wheels from spinning.
Try turning it off. Traction will show on the display, indicating it's off.
Your complaints will be gone. Floor it, and the tires will spin, under the right circumstances.
The lag is FAR from dangerous. This vehicle accelerates from 0-60 in 6.2 seconds, and many reputable testers are getting numbers below that.
