That is definitely very odd.

SCC-Chain's website indicates that the correct chain/cable size for a 285/45-19 tire is Z575. I've tried both the Z575 and Z579 (the next size up from the Z575), but neither one fit properly on my tire. The Z575 is just a tiny bit short and the Z579 is too long.

Now...You claimed that the Z579 fit perfect on your tire. But another member (Ventanabike) claimed that the Z575 fit perfect on his (look at this thread => http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...ht=tire+chain). I found that neither one fitted mine. So...does different tire manufacturers varies that much on their tire design for the same tire size such that it makes a certain chain fit one tire but not another?

After all this research and trials, I still can't find a chain that will fit my 285/45-19 properly
