Sounds like a pretty tight slip which would mean you probably have a pulley that is seizing up. Pretty soon it will completely seize up and snap your belt and leave you stranded somewhere. Either take it to a shop or pull your belt off and find out which pulley or pump needs to be replaced. I would think you if you at least look at the ribs on the belt they probably show some excessive wear right now.
