If your 'M' mode is setup properly (steps 3+4 above), you can:

Press M button
Shift to M/S
Paddle shift to 1
Press and hold brake
Press gas to floor
Wait for flag in center console
Release brake
Keep your foot all the way to the floor and the X will shift for you at redline
