Just thought i'd mention that i had this warning come on yesterday @ 4k miles, although the "crippling" or w/e effects were not really existant, i was trying to plow through a snow bank (yay) so the only punishment is that i became capped @ 1500 rpm and got stock, so i shut it off, started it, backed up after shoveling a bit, and got on my way.... its going in on wednesday to get resolved... So my x5 went into limp mode basically, most vehicles have a similar safe mode.
