Again let me say........
We could go back and forth with this for a hundred years and agree
or disagree but people will not understand this until they get old
and sick. And while we may have the best health care in the world,
those who administer it (the insurance companies) make sure that
when you get sick they will control how much of it you will benefit from.
So what's the difference who's doing the controlling?

The Government controls so much of what is going on in our lives that
I believe we haven't taken a good look at the long list of regulations
that covers every aspect of our lives. And of course it's done because
businesses like insurance companies stand in the ready to rip people off.
From traffic lights to to USDA we are already regulated to the hilt.
Those regulations are put in place and adjusted over time for the best results.

You mentioned "Health Care is already available for those who can't afford insurance.
There are government programs already in place. Medi-Cal, Medi-Caid, Family Pact, ect, ect, ect.
There are community health centers who have what is called a "Sliding Scale"
You pay for services based on your ability to pay. Those who can't pay anyting don't."

Go ahead and get old and try to use those services and see how
much of your income and resources they will demand in order to provide
it. Get cancer and see how many times an insurance company will
try to short change your treatment.

It's not as cut and dry as some would like to make it but that never
becomes a reality until a person has to use it. Then you find out whats up.
