I'm trying to revive a dead MK3 by using V17 OS CD. I've downloaded this version from numerous sites, along with V18, V19. I've read a lot about BMW navigation, ibus etc. I know how to make a Mode2/Form1 image using imgburn for example. The trouble is that OS versions prior to v21 are encoded as MODE2/FORM2 and cannot be mounted or viewed in windows.

Even when I select the file in imgburn, the volume label isn't recognized. Neither by the drive. When I use versions 21 up, the drive try to read it, the red light lights up, then suddenly enters power down state. With V17, V18, V19 it doesn't light the red led. Is there something wrong I do? Can anybody shed some light in this?
