But that Mac amp and those Dynaudio speakers are some of the most expensive hi-fi audio for a car you can get, that's all.
In an expensive home audio setup with McIntosh and Dynaudio, I wouldn't expect to see a Pioneer CD player - you see what I mean?

Yup, i hear ya. I checked out the Eclipse HU, and for the very reasons you stated, decided to go with the Pioneer. Hated the interface, lack of XM traffic. I'm an audio geek when it comes to my home hi-fi gear, and i know the source can make a big difference in the end sound....but changes i've noticed most are speaker/amp upgrading, VS preamp/cd upgrade. (from my experience over the years with upgrading my home audio gear, the biggest leap in sound came from AMP/Speaker upgrading, and yes, after that, i could hear the subtlty of a better pre=amp then finaly a better Cd transport)
I guess in this case i researched most of whats out there, and it seems that between Pioneer, Eclipse, Alpine, Kennwood, they ALL are missing like ONE key feature that the OTHER one HAS!! Very frustrating.
My source is mostly IPOD, not the highest resolution source, but when im in the car, im with friends, rocking out, not doing as much critical listening.
Now to just find a good spot for that gigantic Dyn mid!! thing is HUGE!! (hoping to fit Dyn 3 way up front).
I found most of this gear on evil-bay for great prices, as did Roc. Even the McIntosh!
Will post pix when its done....hoping to drop it off today....
