Dealer cost for the CV joint is around $150 - that doesn't include the axle shaft. The entire assembly is more than $300 dealer cost, so I don't think you are getting a complete new BMW axle assembly for $270 installed. An indy in my area quoted $400 to replace the axle with an Empi - they quoted as $200 for the part and $200 for labor. Although it was interesting that I found the same axle assembly online for under $80.

Anyway - $270 sounds like a very good price no matter how you slice it, but you should clarify what parts will be replaced and what brand they are using just so you know what you are getting.
