i have a 2007 x5 3.0, i am hearing an intermittent loud sound coming off from my air filter exhaust directly on top of the engine. i am not an expert on car mechanics, so i don't really know whether it is still safe to drive the car or not? when i pop the hood, there's a strong air coming out of the air filter pipe.

the check engine lights are off, so i think that the engine is still good at least until tomorrow where i have a scheduled service with my dealer.

i have also checked the coolant and oil and everything looks normal.

does anyone here have experienced the same issue?
