Sounds like you are making good progress. V jealous of your 2008 iBus TCU. It looks like the power, iBus and audio out are the same, but the mic and eject box are different. Before you start swapping wires, you may want to check the other end (eject box side) and make sure you are not plugging in something to your TCU that could damage it.
