It is the cheapest 10" sub JL has available. The sub enclosure is only so deep so can't fit a better sub depth wise. The W1 fits but the W3 won't fit.

I personally have the BSW box which I bought used and empty for a good price with an Infinity reference 8" sub in it. It sounds pretty damn good for what it is and I don't think the JL could do much better for the music I listen to.
