Well today I had the X5 serviced and had a very lenghty discussion with the service tech at the dealership. The information provided to me by the technician is that the ULF is Bluetooth 1.1 compatible and the 8800 is Bluetooth 1.2

BMW only support phones with Bluetooth 1.1 and that is it. Now I am not sure if Bluetooth 1.2 is backward compatible with 1.1 . The only way around this problem at the moment is to have a second phone in the car that has a cradle and has all calls diverted to it. I will also need a second SIM card. I would have to switch my 8800 off before entering the car. This is about all I can do until either BMW make the ULF 1.2 compatible or Nokia update the phone to make it 1.1 compatible as well.
