After setting the all time record for number of losses in a season a couple years ago, the Detroit Tigers are much improved and are shooting to do better than .500 this year and perhaps be a challenger in the American League Central Division. However, with their payroll and current talent they will certainly not be challenging the Yankees or the Red Sox anytime soon.
