All was working with the TCU before--in fact, I had enabled voice recognition with NavCoder when he first installed the TCU...

Anyhow, after some looking at junkyards / ebay, we decided that the easiest way to get an updated BM53 radio, was to buy one from Tischer and trade in the old one as part of the core. This is the BM53 model I bought: 65126988276. RealOEM.com BMW E46 330i ON BOARD MONITOR RADIO . The module plugged right in (a direct swap), and the radio / Sirius work great. The only issue is that "Telephone" has disappeared from the Nav menu screen. When I try to read the TCU in NavCoder, "Code Phone" is grayed out and it shows up as an unrecognized device.

Any suggestions? Do you think the BM53 radio needs to be coded?

Thanks!
The type of radio fitted has zero impact on the TCU

The navigation detects the TCU is alaive and displays the TELEPHONE menu based on the "heartbeat" of the TCU being received

So check and double check the TCU has power, and has ibus connected.
Do a battery reset.
