Why overkill in the states? Are you assuming that we never get the opportunity to pin the throttle? If so your mistaken.
Not that I own one but driving fast on country roads and desolate highways is as American as apple pie and nuclear weapons.
Go with the x5m. I personally do not like the styling of the x6(m). Throw some winter tires on there for the ski trips and try to get over the fact that your two ton plus truck is faster than your bond mobile.
