I've "touched" a few people after they treated my car like a park bench even after I told them to get off my car. If someone "touched" my car w/ their bumper hitch, door, etc and I was there to witness it (I could only be so lucky) I'd sure as hell be calling the police. I've literally sat in my car and had someone fling there door open and I caught it. People take no responsibility for anything anymore, blame and rely on everything else instead of stepping up to the plate...i know this lady wouldn't have even had the decency to leave a note after she tagged my car, so thankfully I was there to stop it. I've witnessed people do the touch method, and while I was shaking my head no at them, I wrote down their plate whenever possible and left a note on their car as a witness...i would only hope someone would do the same for me. Bottom line, people need to know how to drive and what they're driving, otherwise go back to drivers ed or do us all a favor and take a driving school.
