disconnecting the battery will clear some of the adaptations. the only time you need to clear or reset the adaptations is when removing or replacing the throttle body. if you have an air leak, and the adaptation has reached its limit, after repairing the component, and clearing the fault code. drive the vehicle and then the adaptations will come down by itself.
