So when you are taking the assembly apart we'll know which part it actually is and which part would need to be modified for the cam. Now I see though that the $14 part is really just the lens and the base is most likely then entire locking mechanism or the base plate for both the locking mechanism and the license illuminator bringing the cost up a bit from the $14 originally mentioned.

BTW my CAM connectivity will be a bit different. I have an "older" TV tuner module that I could utilize in the E83 but space is tight and I would have to fit it below the Sirius module. This would be the most OEM method. Is this the method you are looking at? Does anyone out there have an OEM tuner plugged into their NAV unit on an E83? If so where have you mounted the tuner?

I currently have an interface under the Sirius module for the CarPC. I would have to either tie wrap the module to underneath the Sirius module or fix out a way to extend the cabling some. The existing module doesn't have provisions for an analogue cam input. So in my E83 solution would be to utilize a USB connected cam to the carpc. In the E46 I do have a TV Tuner installed and have the rear cam analogue cable unused and could use it for a rear cam.
