I have mostly Sony equipment (plus a required Motorola cable box). I was looking at the Sony LCD remotes for the same reason as JV, I want to tidy up the clutter. However, the top model we have in the Great White North is the 3100. Reading about it, it seems that the 4000 has the PC programming and it doesn't appear that the 3100 has that. Is it important, or is the list of codes plus the learning feature enough? Anyone used both? (It seems that the 3100 is an expanded 2500) Appreciate any info or opinions.

The PC Programming takes a little getting used to, key word to remember once you try it a couple of times is ADVANCED. The advanced menus and settings are fully customizable. I just programmed the 4000 to mirror my TiVo remote. There's no

button like TiVo, but I'll learn the new buttons soon enough. Lots of reading still to do. If you'd like to get a cheap 4000, I will post the info here.
