There are several products on the market that help cover the fading that these areas suffer over time.

A lot of enthusiasts use a product called "Back to Black" with good success. Others, like me, just use the same stuff that you'd use to make your tires shiny.

These "rejuvinating" products range from Armor-all (thin viscosity) to a thicker tire dressing. Experiment with several. You'll find exactly what you're looking for.
