By the way - Motor has review of new Porsche Cayenne - they were fairly impressed with the S model (atmo 294kw, 500NM).

I came close to buying a RRS TDV6 when I bought our E53 3.0d but decided on the X given the impeccable service my wife's 3 x 3 Series (two E36 one E46) had given and the fact that the E53 3.0d out performed and out handled the RRS TDV6 and had a better build-quality/reliability record. And I didn't need the off-road advantage of the RRS given that I have an old (1990) Range Rover for bashing about. All the new car needed was all-round practically on secondary roads and the ability to cope with farm tracks and easy fire trails ... all of which the E53 has, especially with standard suspension and on 17s.
