I dont mean to be a pest about this. But i obviously consider myself someone smart enough to tell if there is ice or not on the ground. But it saved my ass over 20 years a few times. Lets just put it this way. At 40 degrees there is no ice. at 37 degrees there is ice. With out a temp gauge do you really think you would be able tell a 2 to 3 degree diference in temp standing outside. Now try to tell what temp it is driving at night on a dark road with out your temp gauge. And temp falls fast. You may have left your house on a trip at 3pm and it was 45 degrees out. By 5pm it may already be 30 degrees. That Makes a big difference in driving conditions and safety. No i dought you will be chacking you temp gauge eve 10 minutes so BMW decided to remind us. It may be annoying when it beeps. But before it actually beeped did you already know it was 37 degrees out and if not how long would you have drove before you knew if you ever did. Also i really dont think you can disable it but if you can why would you. Its only trying to save your ass and even if it only saves your ass once in your entire lifetime to me its worth listening to the beeb. By the way i think that is supposed to help you the most on long trips with frequent temp changes. Sorry about the long email. Have a good holiday
