OK here goes. I rang my painter and he said this. Black was normal wheel paint . Clear coat was normal gloss dulled down with a flattening agent called ALSA which apparently is an American product. If you apply 4% of this Alsa to the clear coat you get full Matt Black. 2% gives you Satin Black. Mine is 3%. The reason he uses this Alsa product is so he can control how Matt the overall look becomes by applying more or less of it. Hope this helps.
