Wow, it looks like you're getting around 21 MPG at best! Can you tell us a bit more about your driving style, conditions, trip length, etc.? I live in the Denver area (Longmont) and I'm considering a 35d, but 21 MPG doesn't seem very good.

One point of comparison may be with your 335i. With the S2, etc. you may be worse than my stock 335i, but it could be a decent baseline. I've averaged just under 23 MPG over almost four years, and figured the X5 35d would do as well or better.
