FWIW when I was scheduling our 35d for it's first oil service our SA told me about both service campaigns. I mentioned that the Air Temp Sensor had already been replaced. He said that BMW required them to replace it again anyway.

BTW the Air Temp Sensor is a fairly inexpensive part ( $26 ) and is very easy to replace (hence pretty low labor costs). So I guess this assures that the replacement is from the 'new batch' of parts and reduces the potential for 35d owner Check Engine Light fright
