oh ok. My X is there now. I was supposed to have a 4 wheel alignment back in Jan. Back in January there were several problems. The X was tracking straight, but the right driver's side tire had been wearing unevenly.

Now I know all e53 X's have a bit of squat that causes the tops of the rear tires to arch towards each other, but if you looked at my X from the rear, it was visibly and clearly drooping to the left side. The top of the left wheel visibly angled more towards the body of the car than the top of the right wheel.

They'd had it since Monday and while working on it to exonerate oil leaks and replacing a MAF under aftermarket warranty, they "found" the thermostat was bad.

I'd previously had no problems with under/overheating as my needle always stayed right in the middle and my thermostat had been replaced less than 20,000 miles before. I told them to skip that repair and they said they couldnt because there was a sensor in the thermostat that since it was bad wouldnt allow the ses light to be cleared. They'd also misread my aftermarket warranty and thought the thermostat was a repair that'd be covered under the warranty.

But it wasnt so heeding their advice which went against my own train of thought (and my bank account's too) they replaced the thermostat too.

As I said before, I'd dropped the car off on a Monday after calling them the week before to let them know I'd be dropping the car on Monday. By Wednesday, my car still wasnt finished and I was having this work done so I could go on a NYC to Vermont ski trip which I was leaving Friday. That meant I needed my car back at the very latest Wednesday. When I was calling Wednesday and then Thursday, the car still wasnt ready and I started rushing them because I'd explained the week before when I made the appt that I needed the car for a road trip on the following Friday.

So they were telling me the earliest it'd be ready was early Friday morning. Finally they called back and said I could pick it up Thursday afternoon. As I was paying my $1400 bill (NOT including the warrantied work) they mechanic says, "hey your car seems to still be pulling a little bit but that might be due to your studded snow tires".

I'm saying to myself, "ok well who's car did you drive because mine was never pulling left or right, I was just having uneven tire wear and the left rear wheel was visibly canted more than the right".

So i explained that the car never pulled and thankfully was still not pulling. So now after taking the snow tires off and putting the summer wheels back on, I am still having uneven tire wear/feathering. So its back at the shop today to be "realigned" because apparently the alignment didnt work the first time.

My mechanic told me Im supposed to get a computerized printout of the specs? I dont know.

Also, I forgot about how I was told that the oil filter housing gasket was leaking and that was the reason for my excessive oil consumption even though I never had a spot on the ground and I park in the same parking spot every day.

I'm still consuming 1 quart every 900 miles or so...
So I'm not saying... but I'm saying...

Any thoughts???
