I was entertaining offering a small amount...you know...to make this thing go away, get the forum users back on track....

Your response about NFP sites and FP sites is invalid. It doesn't matter what the owners chose to do with the site. It was an error (at least apparently,) and therefore, the good nature that does exist in all of us to a certain extent should not have made an attempt to re-sell at a profit, but more of a "your welcome" gesture.
In the end, whether you believe in Karma or not, someone will take something of yours that you overlooked, and it will be missed by you. Lets see how you handle that situation (however, I would suggest not complaining about it when it does happen, and certainly not on this forum
