Scott,

You got it backwards too.

Check the link again and you'll find two versions:
Tru-X Pipe
Tru-X Crossover

The Tru-X Crossover is what he has and what I have. I've never seen it called Crossover before now. I had always seen it referred to as simply x-pipe. They must have changed it at some point or people just referred to them to as x-pipe.

Re-read my post with bold/red. The TruX Crossover is the one that's supposed to have a smoother/lower decibel sound and better performance. Lower sound as in quieter not lower as in a deeper sound - compared to the Tru-X pipe. Which was the original topic/question on this thread.

When I removed the resonator and installed the Crossover in its place, the sound got a little louder at startup and when getting on the gas. However, the sound is slightly a higher pitch than stock - not as deep.

That's when I volunteered that:
I had wondered before if keeping the resonator and removing the mufflers instead would be better for what I wanted - which was a little louder but keep the nice deep stock sound. However, I assumed that would be more complicated and more costly than just installing the Crossover. So, that's why I went with the resonator delete.

Now weasel had confirmed, on another thread, that if I had kept the resonator & delete the mufflers, that I would have ended up with what I originally wanted - louder but deeper sound. I assume that it would still cost more than doing the crossover. Now I know my previous thoughts were correct.

So:

1. Stock = Less loud than Crossover but deeper sound
2. No resonator with Crossover = Louder but not as deep as stock
3. With resonator & No mufflers = Louder than stock AND deeper sound than crossover (similar to stock)

Pheww! Did I clear it up or did I just confuse you more!
