I really liked reading this. Although I was born in 1959 I can relate to a lot of this. My parents always had TV but back in the 60's in France we only had one channel and that was it. When we turned the TV it took it about 1 mn or so before anything went on and then we got a flash in the eyes like if somebody was taking a picture of you. Amoung other things I was fan of some already old american series like "Roy Rogers" or "Wanted: Dead or Alive" with Steve Mcqueen. When channel 2 came out in 1968 that was quite a big event. The first color TV my parents could afford was in 1972. I was 13 and I will always remember looking at the rubgy 5 nations tournament in color for the very first time. I was actually a pretty lucky kid because at that time few people had color TV in our neighborhood.
