To answer the both of you at the same time:
1. -359 is an old part number, superseded by -249 (and preceded by -976). See my post #42.
2. P/N -249 was superseded by -114 which is the current p/n. See my post #42.
3. P/N -114 is Dexron VI which retails for $72.89 for 4 liters. See my post #42.
4. Thus it costs $18.22 per liter retail, and you can get it for 20-25% off retail quite easily so I have no idea why you'd want to buy anything else if the OE BMW stuff will cost you $14.58 per liter.?
5. What kind of transfer case does the X3 have, because #1 I have no freaking idea, and #2 you are posting in an X5 forum?
6. If you use the wrong fluid in your transfer case, you will destroy it. The X-drive transfer case in a facelifted E53 only uses BMW's proprietary Transfer Case Fluid. And there are NO SUBSTITUTES for this fluid whatsoever to date. Got my point?
