The X1 20d is the 177HP/130kw, but there is already an updated 20d on the 3-series with 184HP/135kw. This means it might be possible to get the 184Hp from the X1 20d if one would ever want that.
The 23d is a different beast, as it's the same 20d engine but with the bi-turbo technology of the x35.
Saying the 23d is similar to the 20d is like saying the 335d is similar to the 330d
