I'm not a big sports fans all around, however, when its makes the "regular" news I have no choice but to express my opinion.
I cannot believe this type of 'hoopla' over a sport athlete barely through his twenties, has no championship under his belt, and from what I heard about him, has an obnoxious aura about him. Its probably coming from his agents and handlers, but still ridiculous.
In NY, everyone from the foriegn owner of the Nets (is he a spy too?,) to Jay-Z, to restauranteurs offering free food, Car rental agencies offering Lambo's for driving in NYC (really, where the F is he going to go in a Lambo in NYC!,) to Bloomberg making a push....
But lets not talk about the MTA agency cutting jobs, raising fares, road maintenance being reduced, taxes going out of control, state budgets not being passed, police and fire house's being cut or closed, etc etc...
He's a human being who puts his expensive pants on, one leg at a time. While my pants are not as cool as his, he still shits, eats, drinks, has two legs, two arms, etc...just like everyone else (minus the sleeve's of tattoo's.) The fact that he can catch a ball off the backboard, slam dunk a rubber/leather like material ball, and run up/down a court for 48 minutes does not (read: should not) garner this much attention. Oh, and the same goes for when a wealthy individual cheats on his wife...it happens to millions of people, unfortunately, each day. Move the F on! And a special TV program, com'on...
In other news, the EPA rejected a way to prevent further oil spillage reaching the shores of LA by using stones and rock in the break before the shore, stating it would be dangerous and harmful to the environment.
