Whether the media is blowing this out of proportion or not is not the important issue.
Fact remains:
1) There is an antenna design problem which Consumer Reports, Engadget, etc. have proven. For once, you cannot blame AT&T for this. However, this is not a safety issue.
2) Apple has not acknowledged the problem directly. Yes, they state there is a software fix for making the signal strength display more accurate, but this does not address the true nature of the problem.
3) This is becoming a
PR problem for Apple and they need to address it. If an iPhone 4 owner complains about dropped call from "death grip", I would recommend Apple to just give him/her a free Apple bumper case. End of story. Not everyone has experience the same problem. It appears to variable dependent on different factors, but the fact is, it does exist.

4) About 2 million people have bought the new iPhone 4 and love it. It has lots of great features. But, the phone is not perfect because of the antenna design problem. Never had to hold any cellphone a certain way to prevent dropped calls.
5) And when you release the iPhone for Verizon, fix the antenna problem.
