There *might* be a screw securing the back of the cupholder to the body, but even that shouldn't add too much to the labor. At worst you would have to remove the glovebox.

Yep, also it looks like www.getbmwparts.com (Tischer BMW, MD) sells at or close to the BMWCCA parts discount rate of 20%.
