I get ya, the problem is you aint putting 'admiration' and 'respect' in the same sentence! Iam a "fan" of SL but if its one car I have been dreaming of whole my life and there it is stopped next to me by the traffic lights definately as
ROB experienced, I would either nod at you or just touch the tip of my hat!... Iam not worshiping kind of respect but a "Wow big man thats the real machine you are commanding!" kinda respect. Again not go-green envy "I wish I can blow your f**king brains for driving that car!" But just appreciating that man thats some achievement especially when a car does come in cheap bits!
As for your area having X5s all over like Japanies Corollas, well, still there must be some people who admire and nod (internally!) at you unless you stay in Abu Dhabi where even school kids go to school in X5s! (Then I wouldnt definately be driving one, I would be sheikh Josh in a Lambo or something!)...
