Michelle , I think the best thing to do is study the manual for your purchase and then get info from xoutpost camera guru`s on the best setting for the shot conditions . once you know the adjustments required for manual settings you will get way better results than auto mode with practice . the conditions you are shooting would test the best photographers . good luck .
