For those of you that had a sub installed what type of amp do you have and where did you put it?

I went to have my JL Audio 250/1 installed today and he said it would need to be on the outside of the trim (not hidden like my e53). I have an X5 with 3rd row seating and was hoping for a stealth install so I could easily just pull the sub out when I needed the extra space.
